Southern Alberta beef cattle, grass fed, grain fed

How we raise our cattle

  •  No Growth Hormone Implants, Growth Stimulating Antibiotics or Steroids are used. 
  • Animals are vaccinated against fatal and debilitating diseases. 
  • Animals are not in a feedlot, they are located on grass range, supplemented with good grass hay.
  • Animals have free, continuous access to good clear stream water or  fresh well water.
  • Animals are finished using a mixture of Rolled Barley and Grass/Hay.
  • Animals are provided with Vitamins and Minerals on a daily basis to ensure all nutritional requirements are met.
  • Animals are handled utilizing TLC.

Processing the meat


  • Animals hang for 21 days to maximize the tenderness of the meat you receive. Your meat should be ready early to mid July


  • Hung Weights are on average 56% of the animals live weight. Depending on your Cut and Wrap Specifications the take home weight will be 60-70% of the hung weight.

Order Timeline

  • Orders are open to be placed at  anytime
  • Animals are kept in reserve for last year’s clients until September 1, however additional animals are available from the start.
  • Additional animals will become available after September 1 for past customers who didn't order for 2023.
  • Closing date for the next year’s order is September 30.
  • There is a deposit of $500 required before your beef is firmly booked. (For new clients only)
  • You will receive your invoice within days after slaughter and payment is expected within 10 days following the invoice.
  • Animals are hung for 21 days and then butchered to your specifications; they should be ready in three weeks following you receiving your invoice. When you have paid your invoice, you will be notified your beef is ready for pick up. 

Cut & Wrap Sheet

The Cut and Wrap Sheet also has spots to identify if you want to order, at extra cost; 

  • Hamburger patties
  • Sausages
  • Smokies
  • Pepperoni Sticks

Please include the flavour you would like for all your sausages, smokies, and pepperoni sticks. Prices for these items are not fixed at the time of order, any increase from the butcher will be passed onto you with no mark up.

  

Cut and Wrap Sheets should be filled out by the half. If you wish to purchase quarter I ask that you find someone to take the other quarter and provide one Cut and Wrap Sheet for the two of you. I can have the half split into two equal packages by the butcher for you.
